Our Story – Tirmah Interiors

Tirmah Interiors was created in 2010 by Abid Javed.

Abid’s love of carpets, furniture, lighting, accessories, and the unique artistry of handmade oriental carpets inspired him to establish his own company in South Africa that imports and sells handmade carpets and furniture. Tirmah Interiors has grown over the years and now has two showrooms in Cape Town and Mbombela (Nelspruit) in South Africa.

The collections of hand-knotted carpets and hand-woven Kilims at Tirmah Interiors are unique and diverse. Each Piece has been selected and chosen by Abid Javed to create a vast and varied selection of carpets and Kilims to meet the needs and tastes of every client.

Our Aim

Tirmah Interiors aims to serve all clients to the best of our ability, and to offer a selection of carpets, kilims, and Furniture of the highest quality. Our rugs and kilims come in a variety of sizes and colors, from the smallest to the largest, with something for everyone.

Client satisfaction is our priority. Our clients are very important to us, and we will continuously endeavor to make sure we can meet all the needs and desires of every client, from our ever-growing stocks, or as bespoke custom orders.

OUR OBJECTIVE

Our objective is to be true and honest about the carpets and Kilims that we sell, to the best of our knowledge and belief, plus honor and revere the craftsmanship of each piece, and acknowledge the age-old creative art of the craftsmanship involved in the production of each piece, therefore carrying on the ancient traditions of carpet knotting and weaving.

Based in Cape Town and Mbombela (Nelspruit), South Africa, Tirmah Interiors has weaving and knotting production outlets in Pakistan, India, Afghanistan & Nepal, employing their own teams of individual weavers exclusively for Tirmah Interiors.

All our Persian (Iranian) Carpets are sourced and handpicked directly from Persia. We hand-select the best pieces out of thousands of Carpets, to ensure we continue to supply only top grades, as befits our clients. All furniture is sourced from Indonesia and India.
